Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan today, by phone, discussed the recent escalation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The two, according to a statement released by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, discussed possible ways to de-escalate the situation and touched upon issues related to regional security and stability.

Mnatsakanyan told Lavrov that Azerbaijan’s actions, including an attempt to infiltrate Armenia’s border, were totally unacceptable and a blatant violation of the ceasefire.
