Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) head Gagik Tsarukyan arrived at Yerevan’s General Court of Jurisdiction (Shengavit) to attend a court examination of a National Security Service (NSS) motion to detain him.

Tsarukyan supporters were waiting outside the court when he arrived. Police told them to disperse and proceeded to detain twelve of them.

Tsarukyan briefly conversed with several BHK MPs before entering the court.

Waiting outside the court was former NSS Director Artur Vanetsyan. He described the allegations of vote buying levied against Tsarukyan as political in nature.
